LingoScreen

Privacy policy

Last updated: 31 October 2026

LingoScreen consists of the Android TV app, the lingoscreen.online panel and the phone app (/app). This page explains what we keep and why.

What we keep

  • Account: e-mail address, password (only a one-way hash), plan and license dates.
  • TVs: device model and the name you give it, a random device key, last seen time, app version.
  • Stream source: the playlist link you enter (encrypted), channel group names and player settings. Video never passes through our servers; the TV connects to your provider directly.
  • Learning data: profiles (name, avatar, color, level, a hash of the optional PIN), saved subtitle lines, word lists, review progress and quiz scores.
  • Phones: a random key that links a phone to your household (a cookie for /app only).
  • Technical: IP addresses are kept for at most 24 hours to stop abuse. Essential cookies hold the session and language choice.

Third parties

  • Subtitles are fetched from SubDL and OpenSubtitles by the title of the film or series; no personal data is sent.
  • Word meanings and lists are prepared by an AI model through OpenRouter, sent only the word and its sentence; no account data is sent.
  • Hosting and e-mail are provided by Hostinger.

We use no ads, analytics or tracking tools, and we do not sell or share your data.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete the account at any time in the panel under Settings › Delete account; this removes all profiles, words, TV records and settings at once. It leaves the safety backups within 30 days. Details: Deleting your account.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data (GDPR, KVKK). You can download your word and line lists from the panel. Questions: admin@lingoscreen.online

Children

Accounts are opened by adults. Household profiles are managed by the account holder; we do not collect data from children directly.
